In 2011 one of CCFA’s signature events, Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis, hosted over 130 walks across the country and is poised to raise over 10 million dollars for research, education and support programs.  Take Steps is the nation’s largest event dedicated to finding a cure for Crohn's & colitis. Beyond raising money for research, Take Steps brings together the Crohn’s and colitis community in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Participants are encouraged to make noise and be heard -- raising awareness of these little-known diseases in their community and across the nation. Our goal is to continue to grow the walk both, in dollars and participants involved, so that as awareness grows, so too does the amount of money we allocate to our researchers.

It is estimated that over 38,000 people in Greater New York are affected by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis and the Take Steps Walk is our local initiative to reach them. By blending corporate communities with a unique target audience at both New York City & Brooklyn events, our 2012 Take Steps campaign is expected to be the most successful year to date as we continue to build relationships within our community.
